Benefitting Vanderburgh County CASA
What is Magic Cares?
Magic Cares is a holiday themed magic and comedy show that will entertain the whole family from age 2 to 102! We will amaze you with magic, have you laughing and leave you wondering, "How'd they do that"? Join us for one-of-a-kind magic, comedy, and illusions with a holiday twist! If we're good enough, maybe Santa will make a magical appearance!
Locally Produced
The producer of the show is magician Don Baggett, an Evansville native that has been performing magic since the age of 10. He has performed locally as well as all over the country for large corporations, schools and on cruise ships. He has recruited his son Brandon and magician friends from across the midwest to donate their time and talents to make this the best Magic Cares yet! Meet and Greet the cast of Magic Cares immediately following the show. The performers will autograph your programs and cool Magic Cares t-shirts (available for a donation to CASA).
A Worthy Cause
Magic Cares is a benefit for Vanderburgh County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). The Mission of Vanderburgh County CASA is to be a voice in court to ensure a safe home for abused and neglected children. Jessica Reed
World champion magician, Jessica Reed, has amazed audiences throughout the world. She has been performing magic since the age of three. Since then she has been featured in numerous newspaper articles and magazines. One of the most prestigious magazines is the International Brotherhood of Magicians monthly magazine "The Linking Ring" on which she and her sisters were featured on the cover. Jessica and her sisters recently performed as the headlining act in France. She has also been featured in a Japanese documentary that aired in Japan for several years, as well as many television appearances here in the United States.
David Kaplan, The Great Kaplan
Illusion, music, juggling and deadpan comedy collide in this vaudevillesque spectacle. Inspired by the antics of Keaton, Sellers, Victor Borge, the Smothers Brothers and the illustrious Wile E. Coyote among others, "The Great" David Kaplan welcomes spectators young and old into a wonderfully strange world they will not soon forget. Perhaps Kaplan's most spectacular accomplishment is emerging from the performance in one piece. As his world seemingly crumbles, he manages to tame a rogue bowling ball, juggle furniture, perform feats of prestidigitation, and play melodies on "concert balloon", turkey baster and his great grandfather's ukulele, -- all to the delight of a charmed audience. Notable shows include a recent performance as guest 'balloonist' with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and network television appearances on ABC TV's "The View" and "The Statler Brothers Show" on TNN. David has headlined internationally in theatres and on major cruise lines, from Alaska to the Mediterranean to Tahiti. He has also opened shows for renowned performers including Steven Wright, Bobby Vinton, David Spade, Leon Redbone, David Brenner, Harry Blackstone Jr., and the Smothers Brothers.
Brandon Baggett
Brandon Baggett returns to the Magic Cares stage with all new set of high energy magic and surprises. He began performing magic at the age of 5 and hasn't looked back. In 2007 Brandon was the park magician for Six Flags St. Louis where he starred in his own one-man magic show. This year he worked with his father Don at Holiday Worlds Happy Halloween Weekends. He is a very active performer throughout the Midwest performing a various events and private parties. Brandon recently performed in shows in Louisville, Indianapolis and Chicago.
